Landy Delva

Bio Picture.jpg

Hello! My name is Landy Delva, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 9 years of experience specializing in working with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with mood disorders, childhood traumas, challenges establishing healthy relationships, communication skills issues, assimilation and acculturation concerns, and other life transitions. I was born in Haiti and moved to the U.S when I was 11 years old, so I have a clear understanding of the struggles of adapting to a new culture.

My approach to therapy is client-centered, and I believe therapy is a collaborative process. I encourage my clients to set their goals and support their self-discovery through the treatment process. I incorporate an empathic, practical, playful, and relational approach to therapy with clients and their families.

I have worked with children with a range of socio-emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems at all development stages. I have experience working with children and adolescents in various clinical settings, including nonprofits and schools.

With extensive training and experience in play therapy, trauma-focused treatment, and mindfulness. I am passionate about helping young people build resilience. Besides using a client-centered approach, I utilize solution-focused therapy, CBT, and narrative therapy to support youth in exploring feelings surrounding trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.  I am Trauma-Focused CBT trained provider and focus on increasing awareness regarding the importance of evidence-based trauma treatment. My hope is that each client that honor me with their story feels heard and empowered.

I provide flexible scheduling for evening and weekends.  Faith-Based Therapy available upon request.
